Farming charcuterie with a short supply chain.

The farming company FERRARI comes from Altilia Pesino, a village in the Cosenza province and it is a young reality in the world of semi-wild pig breeding, with the aim of revaluing the native breed Nero Calabrese. On the farm we want to breed and select breeding pigs intended, in part for other farms and, in part, for the production and processing of meat to obtain high quality products for a public who wants to rediscover the flavors of the past. Thanks to our processing system and to microclimate characteristic of the area, we produce sausages unique in their kind.

The "Nero Calabrese" breed has very ancient origins and for centuries has been the undisputed protagonist of the Calabrian diet. Then, the change in consumer tastes and the introduction on the market of much more productive breeds, have reduced the consumption of this type of meat until, thanks to local projects, companies, as well as the farming company Agricola Ferrari, have not recovered values, quality and specificity.
