Ghemme DOCG 2015 Wooden case - 1.5 l

A garnet red color wine with an intense and important aroma, characterized by hints of ripe fruit and spices: Its taste is dry, full-bodied, with harmonious tannins. In short, "Monsú", in Piedmontese dialect, means lord.

The hills of Gattinara are among the most beautiful in Italy: the vineyards are difficult to work and the almost entirely manual cultivation give an additional value to this fantastic wine whose main characteristic derives from the volcanic composition of the soil.

2004 was one of the most complex year with plenty of precipitation, which has imposed particular attention in the vineyard, bringing to light an intriguing and award-winning wine.

Describing a multi awarded winning wine might seem simple, but, in fact, we are definitely talking about a very complex wine. The Gattinara 2006 won for three consecutive times the 3 Gambero Rosso Glasses, in addition to the title of Grande Vino for the Slow Food guide.

The color is a ruby red with reflections tending to orange.

On the nose, Nebbiolo releases all the notes deriving from the wooden barrels in which it has been aged for over 5 years, on the palate there is a range of sensations that are always accompanied by the ferrous taste deriving from the soil in which it is born, capable of making this wine unique, unequivocally.

A medium intense ruby red wine, with a good transparency that tends very quickly towards a garnet red; persistent and captivating scent with notes of dog rose and peach kernel. On the palate, it has a good roundness balanced by tannins and structure typical and perfectly equilibrated.

A garnet red wine to the glass, elegant and noble. Sweet floral notes open the olfactory, which then continues on flavors of ripe red pulp fruits, to allow the perception of precious tertiary nuances of tobacco, mint and pepper. On the palate, it is balanced and silky, characterized by a tannic texture that communicates being able to support the wine for many more years. A wine suitable for important dinners.

The Ghemme Riserva Pelizzane is a fantastic CRU, grown on a hectare of excellence! This portion of the vineyard has the best exposure of the entire vineyard but, in addition, the grapes are thinned, harvested, vinified and aged separately.

Exposure to the west and the clay soil give the Ghemme a unique complexity and elegance,  characteristics that reflect the level of experience in winemaking of Torraccia del Piantavigna.

The color is a ruby with orange reflections, the nose stands out the violet with hints of licorice and the palate is full-bodied with soft tannins.

A dark garnet red wine, full-bodied. On the olfactory analysis this wine is very elegant and pleasing, has a warm nose, toasted with hints dominated by aromas of leather, barley, coffee, strawberry jam. In the mouth it is soft and warm, thanks to sweet tannins.

The Barolo 'Castelletto Vigna Pressenda di Conterno Fantino' is a prestigious red wine that comes from one of the oldest and most famous wineries in Piedmont. To the eyes it has a deep garnet red color, while to the nose develops a wide and complex bouquet, with floral and fruity hints, with notes of blackberries, berries and dog rose. In the mouth it is austere, broad and round, with important tannins.

Ghemme 2005 is a vintage wine that follows and highlights what was announced in 2004: important structure and aromas that evolve and grow continuously. 

On the nose, it has spicy hints supported by a slight vanilla that does not dominate the aromas of Nebbiolo.

In the mouth pervades a sense of balance as only a Nebbiolo of Alto Piemonte can express.

Barbera d'Asti Superiore is produced with the best Barbera Della Cascina Valeggia grapes. The strains of Barbera, cultivated in vineyard with an exceptional exposure and in a very poor white soil, produce very few bunches of grapes. The resulting product is a wine of an intense ruby color and purple reflections, with the scent of ripe cherry followed by spicy notes and berries. The taste is ample and it has a good body and persistence.

Treated separately from the beginning of the season: with particular attention, very few bunches per plant, a strictly manual harvest and exclusive vinification and aging allow to create a cru of excellence.

The vintage wine 2011 has in fact obtained the highest prizes from all the guides, you could not present better.

Ghemme 2001 is an important example of an unusual vintage that however retains all the character of a great wine. The nose has persistent notes of leather and tobacco while on the palate is soft and enveloping with a certain dose of flavor and a nice note of acidity.

This Ghemme brings back in the field of "vintage" characteristics: it is a wine that has been resting for more than twenty years, ideal for those looking for special tastes and is not satisfied to drink a classic full-bodied wine.
