The hills of Gattinara are among the most beautiful in Italy: the vineyards are difficult to work and the almost entirely manual cultivation give an additional value to this fantastic wine whose main characteristic derives from the volcanic composition of the soil.

2004 was one of the most complex year with plenty of precipitation, which has imposed particular attention in the vineyard, bringing to light an intriguing and award-winning wine.

Soil composition: porphyry, sienite and quartz characterize one of the most acidic soils in Italy.

Method of breeding: guyot.

Harvest: manual in boxes.

Vinification: in stainless steel tanks with temperature control, followed by malolactic fermentation.

Ageing: at least 3 years in medium-sized French Allier oak barrels. 

Suggested serving temperature: 16-17 ºC, in a large glass, taking care to uncork the bottle a few minutes before.

Gastronomic pairings: perfect with fine meat, game and traditional Piedmontese dishes.
